The Requirements

The project brief required the installation of a premium solar shading solution tailored for a modern office environment.
 
Key requirements included:
•Effective glare reduction for screen-based workspaces
•Maintaining natural daylight while ensuring visual comfort
•A clean, professional finish aligned with a high-spec office fit-out
•Compliance with fire safety standards (FR fabric)
•A solution suitable for large glazing areas, including high-drop installations
•Reliable and smooth manual control system throughout

The Challenge

This project involved several critical challenges:
•Reception area exposed to intense direct sunlight
→ Strong glare affecting visibility, particularly around the staircase
→ Required installation of 3.6m drop blinds to control light effectively
•Drywall-only fixing conditions
→ No access to structural fixing points
→ Required specialist heavy-duty toggle (umbrella) fixings to ensure safety and durability
•Tight installation programme
→ Completion of 115 roller blinds in just 2 days
→ Required high efficiency without compromising quality

•Installed a manual roller blind system using R20 sidewinder mechanism (chain-operated)
•Selected ROE 3% screen fabric (Fire Retardant) to balance:
•Glare control
•Daylight penetration

•Used professional-grade drywall fixings (toggle anchors) for secure and long-lasting installation
•Delivered a consistent, high-quality finish across all floors
•Carefully handled large drop blinds (3.6m) in reception for maximum performance and visual impact
