Location

Solihull, B91

Located in the heart of Solihull, the E.ON Offices required a complete blinds solution across multiple floors. Iris Blinds was contracted to supply and install a fully integrated shading system that balanced aesthetics, energy efficiency, and comfort for employees.

Project Scope

The installation covered Ground Floor, Levels 1, 2, and 3:
•Ground, Level 1, and Level 2 received full blind installations.
•At Level 3, we provided a tailored solution by reusing and adapting existing materials supplied by the client, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.

Motorisation & Controls

All blinds were powered by SOMFY motors, renowned for their reliability and performance in commercial environments. The system was configured into a networked control solution, allowing synchronized operation of all blinds across each floor:
•Centralised control enables raising and lowering blinds simultaneously, streamlining daily operation.
•The integration ensures efficiency, consistency, and ease of use for the client’s facilities team.

Fabric Specification – ROE Screen Fabric (3% FR)

For this project, all blinds were manufactured using ROE Screen Fabric (3% Openness, Fire Retardant), a premium technical textile specially developed for commercial environments.

Key Characteristics:
•3% openness factor – optimal balance of daylight and glare control, allowing staff to work at screens comfortably while maintaining outside visibility.
•Fire Retardant (FR) compliance – meets safety standards for office and public spaces.
•Antibacterial surface – resists bacterial growth, supporting workplace hygiene.
•Solar & thermal performance – reduces solar heat gain, stabilising internal temperatures and lowering cooling demand.
•Visual comfort – glare reduction without darkening the space, creating a productive and welcoming office atmosphere.
•UV protection – protects interior finishes and furniture from fading caused by sunlight.

By incorporating ROE Screen Fabric, the project achieved a shading system that is durable, efficient, and enhances comfort and sustainability within the workspace.

 The Outcome

The completed installation delivered:
•A consistent and modern look across all floors.
•Enhanced user comfort, with improved light management for screen work.
•Energy efficiency through heat and glare reduction.
•A reliable, easy-to-operate networked motorised system powered by SOMFY.

The client benefited from a high-quality solution tailored to their needs, combining advanced fabric technology with professional installation expertise.
